Art
A student participating in the visual art program at Tennessee Christian Preparatory School will develop a visual awareness of God’s creation in order to produce an individual artistic awareness. Students examine the human experience through their own creativity, through art history as an expression of culture and through the use of visual mediums, technology, literature, and God’s Word. The students will study masters such as Michelangelo, da Vinci, Picasso, Monet, Whistler, and O’Keeffe. They will create pieces in the styles of such genres as neoclassicism, impressionism, realism, cubism, and pop art. The students will explore media such as pencil, charcoal, chalk, watercolor, oil pastels, acrylics, and even clay. At the end of the year, the students will have a portfolio of their own masterpieces.
