Hawks soar over the Yellow Jackets

2011 Hawk Football

The Tennessee Christian Preparatory School Hawks finished their inaugural middle school football season at Lookout Valley Middle School Thursday night. The Hawk fans rallied around the team and cheered them on with painted cars and a tailgate party. The Hawks came out of the gate running and gunning. They were there to win and win they did. The Hawks offense was lead by #’s #12 Eric Hall on 42yd touchdown run, #30 Christopher Reynolds ran a kickoff return 63yd for TD, and 48yd touch run on offense. Hawks quarterback #14 Isaiah Bolton ran 45 yds on QB keep and threw a 37 yds pass for a touchdown to  #34 Andy Chase. #7 Colton Duncan ran 27yds on reverse for a touchdown #18 Trevor Rathbun scored in the 3rd qtr 12yds on QB keep.

The Hawks Defense was lead by#’s #7 Colton Duncan with 12 tackles, 1 interception and 1 fumble recovery. #12 Eric Hall had 8 tackles, #30 Chris Reynolds 1 fumble recovery.

Hawks win 52 – 14 over Yellow Jackets ending the season with a 4-2 record their first year in action.

Volleyball Senior Night

The Lady Hawks will host Liberty Christian Tuesday October 11 @ 7pm. The athletic department will honor Senior Volleyball player Liz Mayton during the game. This is the Hawks last season home game.

Hawks Beat Saints

The TCPS Hawks football team traveled to Knoxville Thursday night to face off against The Episcopal School of Knoxville. The Hawks played a great game against a well-coached Saints team. Hawks quarterback Isaiah Bolton lead the team in scoring, rushing 101 yards and picking up a pair of touchdowns. Eric Hall ran for a touchdown, and Chris Reynolds ran a shanked punt back 42 yards for a touchdown.

The Hawks defense held their opponent to zero points the entire game. Andy Chase and Colton Duncan lea the defense with seven tackles each.

Reynolds, Hall and Derek Duncan each had a sack for a loss.

FINAL SCORE 26-0

Hawks Record: 3-1

Next week (September 22), the Hawks face off against the Silverdale Baptist Academy Seahawks at 7 p.m.

Lady Hawks Almost Victorious

The Lady Hawks faced off against the Lady Jaguars in a tight volleyball matchup on Monday, August 29. The match was a true balance of skill and talent keeping the fans on the edge of their seat. This game was the first home game for the Lady Hawks for the 2011 season.

TCPS and Georgia Cumberland took turns winning matches; .25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 14-25 With each team having won two matches, the Cumberland team came back and won the last match 13 – 15 allowing them to have the game.

Natalie Calfee was the lead hitter for the Lady Hawks. Hannah Chord stacked up the points to be the top server.

Congrats to the Lady Hawks for a game well fought…just 2 points short of a victory!

The Hawks face off against The Lady Crusaders at Cleveland Christian tonight for a crosstown competition.

Hawks Fly To Win Over Boyd-Buchanan Bucs

Tennessee Christian Preparatory School tailback Eric Hall (12) and Fullback Chris Reynolds shared the spotlight in the Hawks’ win over the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers. Both runners carried the pigskin for more than 100 yards each.

The Tennessee Christian Preparatory School Hawks went to Boyd-Buchanan for their second game of the season and rode home with their second victory of the season after defeating the Buccaneers of Boyd-Buchanan 30-26 Thursday.

The Hawks’ Colton Duncan recovered a Boyd fumble on the first play of the game and returned it for a Hawks’ touchdown. Chris Reynolds followed up with 63-yard scamper with Duncan capping it off with the 2-point conversion.

Holding on to a 22-20 lead, TCPS came alive in the third quarter with an Andy Chase interception. The Hawks took advantage of the turnover with an Eric Hall run for 82 yards and another TCPS TD with Hall again adding the extra two points. Hall and Reynolds both ended the night with more than 100 yards rushing.

The Bucs fought back to close within three points, but the Hawks slammed the door with a solid defensive stand stopping Boyd on the TCPS 6-yard line with 12 seconds left in the game.

Hawks Kick Off To Victory!

A sea of red shirts filled the stands to commemorate the first football game for Tennessee Christian Preparatory School’s middle school Hawks. The Hawks faced off against the Grace Baptist Eagles in Chattanooga for their season and program opener.

The Hawks scored early in the game and went into half-time with a 14-0 lead. The Hawks defense allowed only one score and ended the night with a 20-8 victory over the Eagles.

“Tonight marked a historic moment in the life of TCPS,” said Athletic Director Leslie Bennett.  “The inaugural game for our new football program ending with a win signals great things to come.”
