US News 4.12.12

April 12th, 2012

Dear Parents,
No official newsletter today – there is a bit too much to fit on one page!
Below are just a few reminders regarding tomorrow in particular, upcoming dress code changes, and upcoming events.
Blood Drive
First, the school is hosting a blood drive for Blood Assurance at the lower school. Please come by and support this ministry if you are able.
Rummage Sale
Second, there is a schoolwide rummage sale in the gym tomorrow and Saturday, and we’d love to see you there. Rummage for some good deals or come assist the ladies who put this together; any help is appreciated.
Field Trips
Three different field trips are occurring immediately following homeroom tomorrow:
PE (Adventure Leadership) will be going to Racoon Mtn.
Wear dirty old jeans, old shirts, and tennis shoes.
Packed lunches.
Directed by Bennett.
Shakespeare (all cast and backstage) will be going to the large chapel to rehearse all day.
Free dress but bring your costumes.
Lunch in cafeteria (packed or bought).
Directed by Mrs. Benton and assisted by the part-time teachers.
Service Project (all others) will be serving with Lee University at the Greenway.
Wear red TCPS ts, jeans or shorts, and tennis shoes.
Don’t forget water and sunscreen.
Money for lunch out.
Directed by Cuison and Davis.
Next Week (16th-20th) Dress Code

Friday Earth Day t-shirt participants (see Ms. Kesley for questions) may wear their shirts. All others have FREE dress with coupon.
Accreditation Week (23rd-27th) Dress Code
NO free dress passes will be permitted this week due to the large number of visitors on our campus. No exceptions. See the following dress code schedule:
Monday – normal school attire
Tuesday – normal school attire
Wednesday – chapel dress
Thursday – chapel dress
Friday - normal school attire – MS poetry night and lock-in
Please keep our campus in prayer as we approach the accreditation process and team with great anticipation and joy in what the Lord has done on our campus. We will be entertaining visitors from Wednesday through Friday.
Prom (20th)
Those high school students attending prom will be given final information regarding times to meet, cost, etc.  tomorrow.
All outside dates must be approved by Monday. Dresses must be approved prior to next Friday.
Chaperones are Phipps, Davis, and Kesley.
Students who are attending may be permitted to check out at 11:15am.
Teacher & Student Requests
I have been asked to ask for kleenex! Please bring in an extra box or two on occasion, as well as expo markers and hand gel.  It would really help our classroom teachers and students!
Last Note
We are preparing summer reading lists this week, as well as a little packet to keep math “fresh” in their minds over the summer. These will be distributed with report cards in May.   As always, let me know if you have any questions.
